City Lights Electrical
defeats Fischbach & Moore
November 2, 2003 - West Boxford, MA - The annual City Lights
Electrical versus Fischbach & Moore Golf Tournament was
held Sunday, at the Four Corners Golf Course. City Lights
Electrical was the underdog entering the event, however it
would quickly become evident that they came to play. The main
tournament scoring was one point for low individual score
per hole and one point for low team score per hole. The first
hole was played even with neither team scoring. On the second
hole Team City Lights Struck early scoring two points. Hole
number three Team City Lights again scored two points. F&M
then began to fight back scoring two on the fourth hole, no
points were scored on the fifth hole and F&M scored again
on the sixth to bring the match even. Unfortunately for F&M
Team City Lights was just warming up. City Lights scored on
holes seven, eight, eleven, thirteen, sixteen and eighteen.
F&M only scored twice after hole number six, scoring one
on hole fifteen and one on hole seventeen. In the end Team
City Lights beat F&M by nine points.
In a side bet the stapleford scoring system was used to determine
who played the best individually. Each person had to make
a predetermined amount of points. Points were won as follows:
one point for a bogey, two points for a par, and four points
for a birdie. John Deady scored twenty one points, seven above
the fourteen he had to make. Scott Benedict of City Lights
also scored seven above the points he was required to make.
Don Mashaw of F&M scored six he needed twelve. Dons teammate
Chris Seavey did a little better scoring three above his required
score, but neither was close to the two golfers from City
Lights Electrical.
The scores will not be posted so we do not embarrass our friends
from F&M.
