Services > High Voltage and Substations
High-low voltage and substation projects
are another trademark specialty of City Lights Electrical.
Examples of work done in this area include the construction
of a new traction power substation for the MBTA's Blue Line,
part of Boston's mass transit subway system, in the heart
of the city. This job involved the installation of all related
switchgear, transformers, bus duct and primary switches, and
the installation of incoming 15 kilovolt feeders to other
MBTA substations.
Our services in this area include the procurement
of equipment, and new equipment installation of primary switches,
transformers, secondary switchgear, grounding grids, conduits
and ductbanks, vaults, cables, terminations and splices.
Our team has the manpower and equipment resources
to meet any shutdown schedules. We can also remove and/or
relocate existing substation equipment, upgrade and refurbish
outdoor switchyard equipment, and upgrade and refurbish indoor
substation equipment. Additionally, turn-key capabilities
for substation planning, design, estimating and construction
are also offered, Please see the sidebar at right for more
service highlights.
